Ingredients of Tamarind Chutney Recipe
- Tamarind – 1 cup
- Cumin Powder – ½ teaspoon
- Jaggery – ½ cup
- Black salt as needed
- Water as needed
How to make Tamarind Chutney
Step 1: Soak the tamarind in a bowl overnight. Transfer this soaked tamarind to a pan on medium flame and bring it to boil.
Step 2: Remove the pan from the flame once it begins boiling.
Step 3: Press the tamarind with a strainer into a bowl and discard the residue in the strainer. Place the pan now on a medium flame.
Step 4: Next, add water and jaggery to it and cook for 5 minutes, stirring all the while.
Step 5: Add cumin powder, black salt, to the pan, and boil it till you get a thick consistency. Eliminate from flame now and set aside to cool.
Step 6: Tamarind Chutney is ready to serve, transfer the chutney to a bowl, and serve it with kachori or Aloo Tikki.
