Sushant Singh Rajput was described as a well-disciplined person. He took the efforts to transform himself to build his career. One of the necessary steps, before his untimely death, was perfecting Sushant Singh Rajput’s Fitness Regime– and following it religiously for his career.
What Exactly was Sushant Singh Rajput’s Fitness Regime
Career Motives
As you already know, actors are obsessed with looking good and being physically energetic. This is because making a film is no easy task – you have lots scenes to shoot, have to wake up early to reach the set. Then, action stars can only do those tough fights scenes if they are in good shape. Without a good diet and exercise routine in place, the fatigue and exhaustion is unbearable.
It was the same for our dear Sushant too. The guy made a big jump from Zee TV to Bollywood and had acted splendidly in movies like Kai Po Che, PK, Shuddh Desi Romance, M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story and many more.
Then there was a long break and he reappeared with a drastically jaw-dropping physique. He was expected to become a bit leaner for a role in Romeo Akbar Walter, a thriller in which Rajput plays a spy, and Drive, an action movie as a getaway driver.
To get rid of extra weight, he trained with Sameer Ahmed – who helped him go from regular guy to a muscular, super ripped action star with a cut physique with chiselled pecs, a rock-hard six-pack.
Sushant’s Workout Basics
Sushant was never really a gym person, but he believed in keeping himself fit. He decided to go to the gym four days a week. The aim was to lower extra calories to control risks of hypertension, cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
His routine was also designed to maintain strong bones, balance out his metabolism and give him a good night’s sleep. Sushant Singh Rajput kept two of his days for a full gym workout as early as 5:30 AM to 7:30 AM.
But, he was mindful to limit his time in the gym to four days as he found it boring – and when he did, he actively took part in some kind of physical activity like Martial Arts, Horse Riding, Ballets and Lawn Tennis.
A lot of people seem to like this mixed combination of games, along with different forms of exercises. Sushant did too – and he found it to be a perfect fit for himself and his lifestyle, as he found time to fulfil his hobbies and keep himself fit as the same time.
Sushant was also an avid dancer and believed that the best parts of him were his quadriceps and the hamstrings, focusing on these during workouts. His trainer, Sameer Ahmed, was his role model and helped him to transform his body in just eight weeks.

Sushant’s Gym Workout
Sushant strongly believed in these following five circuit training exercises that were made to build a strong core and a fit physique. They are:
- Handstand
- Leg Raises
- Plank push-ups
- Clap push-ups
- Spider-man push-ups
This is what he started with. Next came exercises targeting each body muscle type with equipment. In case, you want to know what these exercises are, check out YouTube for all his workout and transformation videos.
Sushant’s Martial Arts Training
The third physical workout was martial arts – something he really loved and so he added it to his daily regime. He had mastered a Chinese form of martial art and self-defence called Wing Chun Kung Fu. This involved grappling and striking for specialising in close-range combat.
This helped him to improve his arm-strength, to maintain a better body posture, increasing leg strength while burning away excess body fat and building body flexibility. His martial arts training included two parts:
- High-Intensity Calisthenic Workout for 1 Hour 30 Minutes
- Weapons Training for 45 Minutes
Sushant’s Horse-Riding Schedule
This was another favourite hobby. He did horse riding every day as a part of his workout schedule. He felt that it kept him active and fit while increasing stamina to give him a toned muscular body.
Sushant’s Ballet and Dance Routine
Sushant was gifted with some dance moves and was part of Shiamak Dawar’s dance group too. To him, it was a hobby and a workout as well. Sushant Singh Rajput’s Fitness Regime is really attractive for all his fans.
Ballet was one dance form and he used it to improve his fitness and dancing abilities too – as it coordinated his limb enhanced cardiovascular health and burned fat too.
Every fit physique is gained due to 20% of workout and 80% of diet schedule – this was no different for Sushant. He was never a foodie but kept a great balanced diet to gain the body type he wanted. Instead of eating less, he believed in eating the correct amount of food, and at the right time. His schedule included the following number of meals:
- 4 egg whites, 2 whole eggs Omelette, 1 medium-size bowl of oats with almonds and black raisins
- Binge Meal – You can eat anything but deep fried
- 1 bowl of Quinoa with Chicken Gravy and fry veggies
- Feta salad and Lettuce with 1 portion of Grilled Turkey
- 1 part of Grilled Atlantic Salmon with a Avocado salad bowl
When he felt hungry in between meals, he snacked boiled sprouts instead of high-calorie carbohydrates and fats. Instead of different flavoured shakes, he drank protein shakes as guided by the trainer. He stayed away from sweet items too, usually eating a chicken and rice meal as his dinner on an almost daily basis.
